Fluid Networks

Fluids are measured in mB (millibuckets). One bucket is 1,000 mB.

How fluid flows

• Pumps and tanks push fluid every tick through Fluid Pipes to connected consumers.
• Only pipes conduct; machines do not pass fluid to each other.
• Water Pumps fill Water Tanks and consumers. Tanks feed consumers but never other tanks, so nothing sloshes in loops.
• A network reaches up to 256 pipes from each pump or tank.

Pipe claims

The first fluid through a Fluid Pipe claims it (blue for water, orange for lava). A claimed pipe blocks the other fluid, and lines with different claims will not connect to each other. Flush a pipe with an empty-hand right-click to reset it.

This means water and lava networks are physically separate by design. Run one line per fluid.

Who accepts what

Every machine only ever accepts its own fluid, so misplumbing wastes nothing; the wrong fluid simply never enters.
